Description: For the first time and exclusively, we present one trilobite from one newly self-discovered Fezouata Formation. Besides the enrolment, note the distortion/displacement of the body axis in this specimen, suggesting the flow of sediments during the fossilization process (meaning "Valongo Formation type" trilobites in Morocco). The colours of the specimen (very well preserved) result from replacing the original cuticular substances with ferritic minerals, in particular, iron oxides, abundant in this very particular geological layer.

It is, in late years, a prolific area in fossil discoveries that changed the fossil taxonomy of several groups of organisms and that helped to better understand the evolution of all the life on Earth.

Not only several trilobite species have been newly documented there, but some other Arthropods (like the famous Anomalocarids), soft-bodied creatures like Furca sp. And others and Echinoderms are other important groups found and studied there, among thousands of species.

This new deposit extends the already important Fezouata Formation to the Upper Floian and the specimens from there are fascinating from the scientific and collecting point of view.
