Trilobite Fossil, Morocconites malladoides, from Morocco. Morocconites malladoides is the only designated species within this genus, so far. The defining feature of the trilobite is its long, upturned spine extending off the cephalon.
Some call it the unicorn trilobite. The function on the spine is not known. It dates from the Lower to Middle Devonian in Morocco. The trilobite measures 3.25 inches long, the measurement does not include the cephalic spine, and 1.24 inches wide and 2.44 inches high. Well-preserved Schizochroal lenses are present in both eyes.
